Narc Movie Title

A movie title that I did for my independent study senior year of college. The movie that I chose to create a title for was Narc. I found a crude model of a gun, but then treated it with texturing, smoothing, lighting  and animation in Cinema 4D. After rendering out at full HD, I composited in after effects and added smoke reveals and type.

Type Coasters

Assignment for Communication Graphic Design. For this assignment, we were offered the idea of creating a type book for a type foundry of our choosing. However, I chose to do type posters for five different typefaces. Over time, I realized that each poster had a circular element in it, and my next problem was to figure out how to utilize that. Eventually, I came to the idea of type coasters, and physically crafted four of my five original designs.

Type Portraits

Assignment for Visual Literacy. I was given several topics, and using my name, part of my name, nickname, etc, I needed to create a portrait showing the topic. This one is “Hello, my name is ‘Matt’, and I’m an insomniac.

Assignment for Visual Literacy. Another Type Portrait with the topic of a parasite. “Hello, my name is ‘Matt’, and I’m a parasite”. I chose to show this solution by having letters hanging off, or living off, of each-other like parasites.

Assignment for Basic Typography. This is the first of a series of three posters using an originally designed letter of the alphabet. I chose to do a modern type “K”.
